CBCT Scan

We provide quick and convenient dental cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans for dentists and patients in the Orillia and surrounding areas. Our CBCT scans are useful when normal dental X-Rays are not sufficient. A CBCT scan gives us a more detailed image and in less than a minute can capture 150-200 images of your teeth, nerves, bone and tissues. The scan reconstructs a 3D image of your teeth, jaw and neck and is used to provide enhanced accuracy and image quality. The more information we have about your mouth and jaw, the higher the chance of success for implants.

Why have a CBCT scan?

There are many reasons that a patient may need a CBCT scan.  The scan can allow your dentist to diagnose your health more efficiently and plan your treatment accurately before you begin any procedures.  One of the main reasons a dentist will need a CBCT scan is to successfully plan and perform dental implant surgery.  The scan will help your dentist:

  • Measure your available bone and select the proper size implant for the site

  • Determine the location of the maxillary sinus and surrounding nerves

  • Identify gum or bone issues

Avoid discomfort and say goodbye to messy impressions! The Mediti600 is a modernized way to take impressions of your teeth for things such as crowns, bridges or night guards. One of the main advantages to the intraoral scanner is that it provides high accuracy while eliminating discomfort for our patients. The entire process is faster and more pleasant and comfortable for both the patient and the dentist. Sometimes when we take traditional impressions there are defects such as air bubbles or cracks, however the Mediti600 corrects any defects instantly.
