Restorative

Fillings
Fillings fix a hole, chip or a cavity that is in the hard layer of the tooth. The dentist will prep the tooth for the filling and place a resin material inside. The colour of resin is chosen to match your natural teeth.
Crowns
A crown fits over your tooth above the gumline when the tooth is too damaged to be repaired with a filling, has had a root canal or has a large existing filling that is going to be prone to breakage. The dentist will prepare the tooth and take impressions. Once your crown is ready you will come and it will be cemented into place.
Cleanings and Exams
Routine cleanings and check ups are an important part of maintaining good oral health. We know that many people put their dental cleaning and check up on the back burner. We are here to help you on the road to regular dental visits that will not only keep your oral health at its best but also save you money.

During your cleaning our hygienists will scale plaque and tartar build up from your teeth. This along with your at home care will help to prevent periodontal disease and gingivitis. After your scaling, your teeth will be polished to remove any staining and your teeth will shine!

After your cleaning one of our dentists will check the overall health of your mouth. This can include looking at any X-Rays taken to check for cavities and other dental issues. A customized treatment plan may be created at this time for you. Any questions or concerns you may have can be brought up to the dentist and they will be happy to ease your worries!
Teeth Replacements
Dentures
Artificial teeth and gums that are formed to your mouth. Dentures can either be full or partial and are removable.
Bridges
A dental bridge uses the teeth on wither side of the teeth/tooth that is to be replaced as an anchor for the artificial teeth. It consists of crowns (that fit over your natural teeth on either side of the space) and artificial teeth (that “bridge the gap” in your smile).
Implants
The most effective, permanent and longest-lasting replacement for missing teeth are implants. A dental implant is an artificial root that is implanted into the jaw bone. The implant will act as an anchor to hold the replacement tooth in place. The implant and crown are done in several stages that can take up to 6 months.
Root Canal
At Mariposa Dental we have a dentist who focuses on root canal treatments.
Don't fret! A root canal isn't a scary procedure and it is done quite often at our office. When a tooth is badly decayed, a root canal may be necessary. The dentist will remove the infected pulp and nerve in the tooth. Next the tooth will be cleaned, filled and sealed. The goal of the root canal is to eliminate bacteria from the infected tooth and save the natural tooth. You may require two appointments to complete the root canal treatment.
Extractions and Other Oral Surgery
Oral Surgery is a broad term for any operation that may be preformed on your teeth or gums.
At Mariposa Dental we focus on tooth extractions, dental bone grafts and impacted wisdom teeth extractions. You may need to have a tooth extracted if there is extensive decay, disease or breakage.
